    Make an embroidered Sewing Bird inspired by a Hand-Crafted wooden Sewing Bird Robin has in her collection. Vintage Sewing Birds were a tool designed in the 19th century for hand sewing. Clamped to a table’s edge, the little metal bird acted as a ‘3rd hand’ to keep the fabric taut as you sewed and hemmed. Before sewing machines, sewing of ALL things was done by hand…a helper was most welcome!
